| Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010 Kyoto Session is a commemorative event which celebrates 10th anniversary of Virtual Company Trade Fair. This event is also a registered activity which represents a final day of Global Entrepreneurship Week,(GEW) Japan. GEW is a global initiative started in 2008, with the aim of inspiring young people to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship attitudes and this year more than 90 countries are going to participate.
In our GEW 2010 Kyoto Session, on the first day,Nov.19th, we will, firstly, share the background of Kyoto Entrepreneurship- sources of venture spirits and long continued businesses. After that, we listen to the story of innovative challenges from one of the oldest family businesses lasted more than 300 years. Then, we learn entrepreneurial management style from rapidly expanding IT venture, following with panel discussion of entrepreneurship environment in Asian country. Lastly we end with our future vision of how to raise entrepreneurship among youth. On the second day, Nov.20th, we hold an international workshop. In this session students form a team with young entrepreneurs. Then, we give tem a challenge and they need to to create an innovative way to solve it and present the idea to the judges. On the third day, Nov.21st, about 40 teams (400 hundreds students) from primary to university from all over in Japan, will get together to share their entrepreneurial activities here. They present their collaborated projects with local business, or NPOs, and sell their invented products. The prominent business ideas will be awarded according the assessment of judges.
